hey guys it's already the 5th day! i'm at a cybercentre near where we stay. School was only half day today and we went shopping after that. My goodness, i didnt know bargaining could be soo tiring. But it was fun nonetheless. Only bought a few stuff for the family.

Did i mention that by 5pm here it's already as dark as 10pm? yeah.

Anyway, yesterday...i had headache and decided to stay in and only go out later in the evening. So in the evening, Jessica and I went out to get necessities and to get new specs done for here cos hers broke. ok anyway..i gotta go now cos time's up! I'll blog about Mr Spoon and Door-less Toilet woman later. SEE YA'LL!!!!

(okay, here's a copy of an email i jst sent...)

It's already my fourth day in Beijing, can you believe it? So fast. Anyway, we're only allowed to use the computer for half an hour everyday in this school. Everytime i come into this room, i feel like peeing BUT i have to try and hold till 4pm cos the toilets here have no doors and you could probably smell it from Singapore.

So far so good, i got myself the best partner & roommate ever. Shahidah, her birthday's 22 Nov too. Jessica's an ABC, so you can guess how GOOD her mandarin is. HAHA. But i guess because we're the only pair that's half-bishan, half-clementi...it kinda put us in a spot.

Apart from that, Beijing is BEAUTIFUL! I wish you guys were here with me. I find myself in awe everytime we leave our resthouse. Our resthouse is this very low profile kinda place where they usually house students and at this small alley WHICH is situated RIGHT AT the shopping street and a WALKING DISTANCE to WANGFUJING. That is, of course, the Orchard Road of Beijing. There are quite a few muslim restaurants here. Even a muslim foodcourt. haha. coolness. it's nice to be here not as tourist but living with the locals. elii, i saw a girl who looked like you!! haha.

For the past 2 days though, since dinner was on our own, we decided to eat at this muslim diner that's right at our alley. It's looks like Cahaya, but smaller than half the size. The satay is DELICIOUS. I had egg fried frice...and yesterday i had erm...some pasta-like thingy. forget bout losing weight k? kat sini makanan die sedap2. HAHA. even the veggies!!

i've already tried out my bargaining skills....unintentionally. A guy was selling me gloves for 35 yuan but when i walked away because i don't need it he went (in mandarin), 'Okay okay! 10 yuan!!.......how bout 2?? 2 yuan!!" jess and i could NOT STOP LAUGHING it was hilarious....

Dogs wander around without their leashes. The Chinese spit like nobody's business. The Great Wall of China was MAGNIFICENT. The roads have a lane & traffic light especially for bicycles....so apart from the usual, red green yellow and arrow, they have picture of bicycles. we found BUBBLE TEA. heheh.

oh, and they weren't kidding bout how the cold would dry up our skin. kakak, i used to make fun of how ur dry skin was like snake skin....well, now my skin is worse than that. my skin is SO DRY that when i apply moisturizer PEDIH GILER!!! especially my face...which is really itchy right now.

and school. *sigh* hari-hari kena rush. ingat kat Singapore jer rush. jst this morning we kena scold by the driver because we were too slow. imagine....34 of us had to be squeezed into two small vans! fun giler kan?

it is seriously freezing here. Put your hands in the freezer for 10 minutes. That's what our whole body is like for 2 weeks. And mind you, its still cold even though i have like 5 layers on. so jgn harap nak tengok gambar and saying, "hey, you look slim in here!". the good thing is that...everyone else is just as big! AAAAHHAAHAHAHAHA.

ok dah lah cukup eh....i cant feel my hands anymore. gotta put on my gloves. LOVE YA'ALL!!!

Hello lovelies!

Third day here in Beijing and i'm freezing my ass off. IT's BEAUTIFUL here and today's also my first day at school. I wanna keep this entry short cos i can't really type much cos i'm trying to hold my bladder cos i'm trying to avoid having to use the toilets here cos the cubicles in the toilets here have NO DOORs. Sure, i'm getting used to the lifestyle here but i'm not quite interested to know whether my neighbour is doing a number one or a number two.

Had a long day yesterday. Literally. We were at the Great Wall of China! omg, that is it. I can't hold it anymore, i really need the toilet. Shall share my experience in my next entry. WISH ME LUCK! urgh....

For the past week, i've been telling myself to update my blog. But my schedule had been so packed and i had alot of work to finish up.

Anyway, it's now 3.30am. I'm supposed to be up by 4am to start getting ready to go the airport. But i still have so much to do that i don't think i'll get to sleep a wink. Though my back is crying out for help right now.

My flight to Beijing, China will be at 8.15am and that's in about 4 hours' time. I'll be there for 2 weeks for the Overseas Exchange Programme with ITE and Beijing Finance and Economics School. I had been excited intitally, 'cause i had been excited about the shopping and the sightseeing. But after looking at our schedule while we're there...

You see, we'll be schooling from 9 - 3pm. We have to complete a few modules within 2 fucken weeks WITH EXAMS! (Our exams will be held after our Farewell party on our last day there... Wow, i a so looking forward.) By the way, they have also hired a tutor so that back at our resthouse, we can continue studying and prepare us for the exams. On top of that, we have presentations to do. Projects to complete AND to do daily updates on our travel blog.

And then we'll get graded and receive credit units. Excited much? There i was making a shopping list, and list of places to go.

I'm sure i'll enjoy myself there, though. I think it'll be quite an experience. Let's see how it goes. I'm keeping my mind open and stay optimistic.

In the meantime, i hope you will all pray for my safety to, during and back from China. Amin.

Okay, 3.45pm. I better get a quick nap. See ya'll soon!

With Love,
Fiza

Jannah was right. i had been in denial all these while. and now, i have to decide how i'm going to deal with it.
