the first day of school was exactly how i'd pictured it. predictable. nothing extraordinary. but i'm happy to be hanging out with my girls again. it's funny how we talk about the same thing every single time we meet, and never get tired of it.

but yesterday hadn't been all dull. i had my weekly dose of adrenaline at BODYCOMBAT class! i sent K.C. a text to tell him that i would be late 'cause i was from school and that he should start the class without me. but he said he'd wait. yay!

but i was already 10 minutes late. so upon alighting the bus, i ran all the way into the building and practically threw myself into the studio where everyone had already been in their positions and waiting for me to fill mine. "everyone" however, had only been 8 people. including a newbie. 5 of the more gung-ho members and piz were unable to make it and i gotta admit i was a little disappointed and thought the class would be less fun.

boy, was i wrong! K.C. made up for the lack of "power" people with lots of awesome Power tracks and Combat tracks. it may not have been as fun as the previous classes but it was definitely more intensed. i found myself giving 200% and my muscles were probably shocked by the intensity they almost went numb halfway through a Combat track. the presence of a newbie probably motivated me to push myself harder too.

i remember how i first stepped into the class a year ago and almost gave up halfway 'cause the choreography proved to be too tough for me then. and how my body would start aching days after that. but i never gave up and now i can actually feel my stamina improving. yesterday's BODYCOMBAT had been immensely powerful and for the first time K.C. told me i did exceptionally well.

i'm elated.

No Pain, No Gain. how true.
